Why would I have my newborn or young child adjusted?
A newborn or young child has a nervous system, just like an adult. And just as an adult has various stressors that affect their nervous system, so do newborns and children. These stressors can begin in utero or during the birth process.

In addition, children go through considerable neurological development at a fast rate. Learning to communicate, crawl, interact with others, etc. So even at a young age, it’s crucial to have their nervous system checked.

Can chiropractic cure everything?

Chiropractic isn’t a cure; it’s about improving the function of the nervous system. The nervous system is what controls and coordinates everything that goes on in your body. So when our nervous system is functioning better, that means our organs, tissues and cells can function better. The goal of the adjustment is to improve your nervous systems function, improve your adaptability to stress and have better efficiency.

Will you adjust my baby during the first appointment?

Yes, as we are performing baby’s exam we will be discussing our findings as we go and adjust as needed.

Can chiropractic care help with colic and if so, how?

An adjustment for a colicky baby helps to bring calmness to an overstressed nervous system. Is baby hard to console, gassy, spitting up excessively? The aim of chiropractic is to reduce that stress and tension on the baby. We see so many colicky babies thrive once under care.
Does insurance cover children’s visits?
Most insurance plans only cover musculoskeletal issues. We will verify any insurance benefits to determine coverage. Because we believe in transparency, we will let you know exactly what would be covered and what wouldn’t be.

Will you work with my child’s pediatrician?

There are many benefits to a collaborative approach with patients’ other providers. We may ask to contact your pediatrician to gain insight into your child’s particular issue and answer any questions the pediatrician may have.

Is it safe to have my newborn adjusted?

Yes, rest assured that we use light pressure to adjust a newborn-about the same amount that’s used to check a tomato for ripeness. Sometimes babies are so relaxed that they fall asleep during their adjustment!
